                                            Opinion Paper on 1984
The line that states "The government has a right to know what people are reading so they may determine who might be a threat." I will talk about if I agree or disagree and why. Should the government be able to know everything that we are doing to make sure we are not a threat to the country? Or is it our privacy?
"The government has a right to know what people are reading so they may determine who might be a threat" I disagree with this line because "we the people" have the right to privacy. If somebody is planning on blowing up our country they will figure out a way to do it without the government knowing. Criminals are going to be sneaky either way. Another reason I disagree with this statement is that they could go to another country and read how to make a bomb and our government couldn't do anything about it.
Another thing is that the people who aren’t crazy deserve privacy. The government seems to be taking over everything and it is outrageous. Although it is easier for people to just google how to make bombs, or anything that is threatening to our country, but if you think about it the government is part of why it is so easy to find out information.
This is why I disagree with this line. I think that we deserve privacy and for the government not to take us over. Eventually it will turn into it just being the government’s robots.
